So, this time, let's look at what you can do to help find a little time, or recharge a bit:

  • Primer - use a primer to help your make up last longer - that way you don't have to worry about keep reapplying. Use specific ones for eyes and lips too.

  • Day to evening - don't worry about taking all your make up off and starting again. If you need to change your look up, add a little more foundation, or try a bronzer. Either add another coat of the same eye shadows, to make the existing colour deeper, or try one or two shades darker but the same basic colour. More lippie and a quick spray of perfume and you're good to go...

  • Emergency make up bag - keep a little rescue bag in your office drawer, car or handbag, so you can freshen up before leaving work, when you have drinks or dinner after hours.

  • TV time - we're all guilty of sitting in front of the box and then realising time has disappeared. Don't feel guilty about it, but try to make the most of it. Don't multi task by looking at your phone. Put on a mask (cough - Overnight Success Mask anyone?) and sit back and enjoy your favourite programme.

  • Get help - sometimes we can be our own worst enemies. There's no shame in asking for help, and doing a bit of delegating means others don't need to feel guilty, and you don't need to fume silently!

  • Say yes - don't turn down the opportunity to go out, meet friends and have a laugh. It is your festive season too, and you're entitled to some down time. Nothing is better for us than a good laugh with great company.

  • Make life easier - choose options where you can take shortcuts, or buy some things that are ready made. You don't have to be Nigella Lawson in the kitchen. And that goes for all walks of life, not just food...

  • Dilute - yep, you knew I was going to mention it. You need to hydrate while rushing about. Make sure you drink plenty of water, so alternate caffeine or booze with a glass of the good stuff...
