Take care of your body and mind

Of course, it's important to look after yourself all year round. But, in the Summer, we often forget things like moisturising, because we are not so conscious of the drying effects, usually associated with wind and central heating.

So, this month a few tips to share with you:

  • Body lotion - make this part of your shower/bath routine. Have your favourite lotion easily to hand, and apply as soon as you have towelled dry. Not only is it great for your skin, but the massaging action is relaxing. 
  • Water - I can't remind you too many times of the importance of drinking plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. It also keeps your brain active too. And in this hot weather, it is even more important.
  • Vitamin D - we get our best vitamin D from the sun. That doesn't mean you have to spend hours outside, but find a few minutes when you finish work to just take a few deep breaths and lift your face to the sun. Of course, sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine certainly has its merits too! 
  • Your quick fix - you might have a hobby you enjoy, but you also need a quick fix, that helps you unwind, when you are feeling uptight. That might be five minutes with a book, listening to some music and dancing while cooking, or catching up with a friend for a few minutes on the phone. But you need to have those go to fixes, to help relieve tension.
